Alison Lee, MD, completed her residency in internal medicine at New York University School of Medicine and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Her main clinical and research interests focus on obstructive lung disease, including asthma, chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Dr. Lee’s research in Bangladesh, Ghana and New York City strives to understand how early life environmental exposures alter lung development and predispose children to respiratory disease later in life. She is the principal investigator of Thrasher Research Fund and American College of Chest Physicians Clinical Research Grants and receives support from an Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program award. Dr. Lee is also faculty for the American Thoracic Society’s Methods in Epidemiologic, Clinical and Operations Research (MECOR) program, to train African researchers and improve global lung health through the development of local and regional research capacity.
